Scottish comedian and impressionist, GEOFF BOYZ “has established himself as one of the most versatile comedians on the London Circuit” ID MAGAZINE
In 1995 and 1997 Geoff hosted BEST OF SCOTTISH COMEDY at the Edinburgh Festival and in 1996 made his solo debut at the festival with a superb one-man show. He was a regular compere for The Best of the Fest at the 1997 Festival and the following year his show NOISE AND OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS had a successful run at The Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.

On television he has been featured in COMEDY RULES (STV), PEBBLE MILL (BBC1), BEST OF SCOTTISH COMEDY (STV) and TALKING TELEPHONE NUMBERS (ITV). Recent shows include THEY THINK IT’S ALL OVER (BBC 1), DEAD RINGERS (BBC 2), JACK DEE (BBC 1) and MR CHARITY (BBC 1). Geoff has guested on numerous radio shows. He also featured on GLORIA UPSTAGED and appeared in two series of RED DEVILS and FANTASTIC VOYAGE (all for BBC Radio). He co-wrote and starred in the BBC Radio 5 series COLIN and was the hit act on Radio 2s THE STAND UP SHOW.

“Fast and very funny” GQ MAGAZINE

Returning for your entertainment this Friday 24 February is Days of Last. Rock out from 7pm as local promoter Kane Leighton-Pope provides you with the best in heavy metal, melodic hardcore and punk rock!

This Friday, Days of Last presents The Indicators, plus support from Harrison and Mindset for Mayhem!

Following on from their insanely catchy debut single ‘£1.99’, released in August 2011, The Indicators are back with a new single, ‘Simon D’. The song, to be taken from their forthcoming album is another honest, succinct look at life through the glassy eyes of chip shop
worker, Simon D and his two mates. It is a two minute tale of a little boy made to play piano by his parents as he was no good at football. An ideal Simon D eventually failed to live up to, falling foul to the peer pressure of teenage life in a seaside town.

The single is taken from their forthcoming debut album produced by Dave M Allen of Cure, Wire, Depeche Mode fame, and being released on new label, indelabel, via Republic of Music.

For more information on future events, visit our website or www.facebook.com/daysoflast and book your tickets now!

7pm Basement Studio.

All tickets £5 in advance and on the door. Book early to avoid disappointment!

Upcoming Days of Last nights are Sat 17 Mar and Sat 21 Apr.

On Thursday 08 March, indie classical singer and composer, Ana Silvera, returns to The Firestation for an evening of beautiful music from her newest album, released in January of this year!

Ana Silvera’s star is on the rise. Performing at The Roundhouse with the Estonian Television Choir and alongside Imogen Heap, as well as touring nationally, this is an evening of musical splendour you can’t afford to miss. Her eagerly awaited album, The Aviary, was released by KMC Recordings earlier this year, and Ana is currently touring and headlining at The Roundhouse prior to her visit!

Her songs draw on her eventful life, as well as referencing mythical and historical tales for their fascinating narratives. Truly one to watch.

After the huge success of Mark Hole and Days of Last, local promoter, Kane Leighton-Pope and The Firestation join forces once again to bring you a night of indie, rock and pop this Friday 17 February at 7pm! A late inclusion to the line-up sees the arrival of Kit Rice and Ed Aldred supporting Mercia.

Although young (an average age of 20!), Mercia are unique in their music style, and creative unpredictability. Veering from painful ballads to raw rock numbers, Mercia are true musicians, producing accessible and melodic music where lyrics are essential to audience engagement and enjoyment. Mercia were also the winners of Windsor’s Got Talent!

Kit Rice is a classical violinist and singer songwriter: a truly versatile musician and with four years of BRIT school experience to call on, Kit loves nothing more than performing live, and can often be seen playing solo shows, as well as accompanying the talented Leddra Chapman. With his unique singing style and flexible musicianship, he is an emerging talent to be watchful of in the near future.

Ed Aldred comes from a predominantly acoustic background, drawing from blues, rock and folk icons such as Neil Young, Johnny Cash and Tom Waits.

Support from Kit Rice and Ed Aldred.

Tickets £5 in advance, £6 on the door

A rare opportunity to see a British Cult Classic on the Big Screen: firm favourite Withnail and I screens at The Firestation! A hilarious look into the life of ‘thespians’ in the 1960s, treat yourself to this classic film and relive Richard E. Grant’s first ever movie on Sunday 19 February at 7:30pm!

Starring Richard E. Grant, Richard Griffiths and Paul McGann.

London: The Sixties. Two down-on-their-luck actors (Withnail and Marwood) find solace in drink and other substances. Seeking respite from their uneventful lives in between acting jobs, they escape up north to Penrith to Withnail’s uncle’s stone cottage. Faced with no modern conveniences, a bunch of oddball locals, and a surprise visit from a worryingly amorous “Uncle Monty”, their wits are tested, along with their friendship.

“The best British comedy ever made? Possibly. A masterpiece? Unquestionably.” – Ali Catterall, Film4

“It is at once a coming-of-age comedy and a fond farewell to an era.” – Xan Brooks, The Guardian

“A hilarious black comedy and already something of a cult favorite.” – TV Guide’s Movie Guide

“The wit is sharp … and the lament to times past, friendships gone and experiences lost is affecting.” - Time Out

This Fri 17 Feb, come down to The Firestation and listen to a line up of great bands, headlined by Mercia! The perfect gig environment (and always very popular!) and bands brought to you from local promoter, Kane Leighton-Pope, rock out in style this weekend!

A blend of rock, indie and pop, this is a band not to be missed!

Support from Ed Aldred.

Tickets £5 in advance, £6 on the door

Haven’t booked to see Sense and Sensibility yet? With a host of fabulous reviews and award nominations, this is a production not to miss!

Check out the newest review of the production here

Elinor keeps her head, Marianne loses her heart….

Based on Jane Austen’s classic novel of two sisters and their search for love in a society bound by financial fortune.

Brought to the stage with beautiful imagery, original music, humour and heartbreak. Helen Tennison directs this comedy of manners, marriage and much gossip….

After the success of the Multi-Award Nominated ‘Breakfast with Emma’, based on Madame Bovary, the Award Winning Rosemary Branch Theatre with Tennison’s quirk bring their unique visual style to Sense and Sensibility, a play by Roger Parsley and Andy Graham, produced in association Guilford’s Yvonne Arnaud.

**** this adaptation of an Austen classic combines emotional resonance with a satirical look at eighteenth century romance.
